For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. Matthew 25:35

  The Banquet
In every feast, remember that there are two guests to be entertained. The body and the soul, and that which you give the body you will presently lose, but what you give the soul remains forever.

Serving groups are responsible for preparing, serving and providing the meal that is served. A group of 35-40 volunteers is needed to serve an evening meal and 20 volunteers to serve a breakfast. The Banquet serves between 350-450 people each evening meal. Volunteers must be 13 years old to work in the kitchen or to pour beverages. Volunteers age 10 to12 years old may wash tables and carry trays only. Children under age ten will most likely be helping to wipe tables.  We ask that parents use their own discretion about whether their child will be able to stay at that task for an hour and a half.  Young children MUST be closely supervised by their parents at ALL TIMES for their personal safety.

The Banquet's Food Service Director will help you plan the menu and order the food.

Individuals can serve: If you want to help us serve a meal but are not affiliated with a group please contact Shiloh@thebanquetsf.org to schedule a time to serve. We do ask that you make a contribution toward the cost of the meal as you will be assigned with a group that is responsible for paying for that meal.
